Here are the top ten ways I use the system (copied from a memo sent to Bill Corbin August '09).
- I put every person I meet into my data base and send them a 3 step "It was good to meet you" campaign. 2 Cards and 1 email.
- I send every person that does business with me a thank you card. I have several designs and try to make it fun.
- I send every contact that asks me for a quote a thanks for the quote card. Then I code them as a prospect.
- I send every prospect created in the last 12 months a card once a month. After 12 months and no purchase they get one every other month. After 24 Months they just get my annual mailing.
- I do the same thing as above with clients. Every client created in the last 12 months gets a card once a month. After 12 months and no purchase they get one every other month. After 24 Months they get get a 4 card Lasped client campaign... and after that they just get my annual mailing.
- I send a "Monthly Specials" Email to every Prospect and Client and others who have opted in to my website.
- When I know the clients or prospects birthday I send them a card.
- I touch people that I have personally met (not a purchased list but a face to face encounter) 3 cards a year (including my annual mailing).
- If I know the person well and we have "Connected" beyond the acquaintance level then I send them a card 6 times a year.
- I mail my entire database an annual mailing.
